Lisa Allen Bsc (Hons) ACA
I have been interested in human psychology from a very early age, being an avid reader of psychology-based books as well as being someone who others sought out for advice and help. However, with a natural ability for numbers and a personal drive to achieve independence and financial security, I followed a more traditional route.
I completed a degree in Mathematics at Bristol University and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC in 1992. I progressed through the ranks on a fast track to partnership enjoying a broad variety of experiences that working in London, for one of the top business advisory firms, offered.
During my time there I enjoyed advising senior executives in major clients including BBC, Sainsbury’s plc, Pearson plc and Argos plc before taking a career break to raise a family.
Family life is of paramount importance to me. During my career break, I pursued many activities and part-time roles that allowed me the personal time with my children as well as giving me the opportunity to connect with others and develop new skills. These have involved childminding, private tuition, book-keeping and various community leadership roles such as chairing the Parents’ Associations at two of my children’s schools.
In 2013, my final employed role ended due to the relocation of the business providing me with an ideal opportunity to re-evaluate my own personal values and motivations. Through my own journey of self-discovery and personal development, I chose to embark on several training courses and diplomas to enhance my existing skill set and Dan and I founded Islanda Coaching & Consultancy Services where I provide services using my intuition, skills and experiences to transform lives and businesses.
I now feel privileged to devote myself to a career that, with the benefit of maturity and self-awareness obtained from my own experiences, fulfils my life’s purpose.
