The end of the year provides a natural moment, when one year closes and another opens, for you to PAUSE and reflect on all that you have achieved, the progress you have made and the impact you have had.
Why is this important?
We are driven by our emotions, and if you want to continue to create habits that enable you to learn, grow and achieve, then acknowledging your progress and celebrating your successes, helps magnify the pleasant emotions associated with achievement and success, so you do those habits again. Basically when something feels good, you want to repeat it.
So what should you do?
Before moving on to setting goals for next year reflect on:
- what you did this year;
- how far you have come;
- the impact you have had on yourself, others and your community;
And CELEBRATE! (this doesn’t have to be a grand celebration, patting yourself on the back, raising a glass to yourself or pumping your fist in the air are great ways of doing this).
And even better, share it with others, and celebrate together.

And on the theme of rest here is an informative e-book on Homeopathy for Better Sleep written by homeopath, Naziana Searle, who has been a great support for me over the last few years navigating my erratic sleep patterns, that have been particularly impacted by the menopause.
